About me

I am Tom Griffin, a London-based journalist and researcher. In 2022, I published my first book, State-Private Networks and Intelligence Theory: From Cold War Liberalism to Neoconservatism, in the Routledge Studies in Intelligence series.

My previous work includes serving as political editor of the Irish World, editing OpenDemocracy’s OurKingdom blog and producing a number of research reports on Islamophobia for SpinWatch. I have also carried out documentary research on the activities of the British security forces in Ireland alongside researchers from Justice for the Forgotten and the Pat Finucane Centre.

The Green Ribbon blog, online since 2005, reflects my journalistic interests, featuring commentary on British, Irish and international politics.
