Eq Guinea sues Simon Mann

The dictator of Equatoral Guinea Teodoro Obiang Nguema, launched a civil case in the london courts yesterday against Simon Mann, the mercenary behind last year’s failed coup attempt in the West African country.

Mann’s lawyer’s have asked for the case to be struck out, the FT reports.

    How do you take *civil* action against someone for trying to overthrown a foreign government?

    I’m not sure how the juridiction issue works. There must be an element of flexibility as the legal system is supposed to be a significant contributor to the UK’s invisible exports.
