A P2P learning experiment

Ths post is part of the Peer 2 Peer University Webmaking 101 challenge.

The crisis of the university was a key theme of social struggles in the 1960s, one that has returned in recent years with debt-burdened students driving many of the social movements that have emerged in response to the global financial crisis.

While politicians like Michael Gove are driving a vision of privatised profit-making education backed by interests such as Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation, potentially more egalitarian alternatives are also emerging. The Peer to Peer University is an interesting experiment in this direction. I've decided to dive in and join the Webmaking 101 challenge as a way of learning more about it.

    Hi Tom,
Like you I’m playing around with P2PU as an interesting new possibility in the world of education and assessment. Good luck with the rest of the experiment. May well see around whatever passes for a campus in this new virtual establishment!
    Best wishes,
    Dave
