Slugger points us to this week’s online edition of the BBC Northern Ireland politics show Hearts and Minds, which has a discussion on Gordon Brown’s British patriotism drive about half way through.
It looks as if Brown has managed to produce a cross-community consensus ahead of his upcoming visit to Belfast. Both unionist commentator Alex Kane and nationalist Brian Feeney are agreed that the whole ‘Britishness’ exercise is simply a ploy to advance Brown’s prime ministerial ambitions.
Incidentally, I can’t help feeling that despite Brown’s support for England, a good run by Sven’s men won’t do him any favours.
