Brown vs Davis?

Gareth at the Campaign for an English Parliament notes that the BBC has confirmed that the Tories won the popular vote in England.

This could create a very interesting scenario. Labour’s reduced majority means there is a good chance that Gordon Brown will replace Tony Blair as Prime Minister.

The favourite to replace Michael Howard is David Davis, who has expressed support for an English Parliament in the past.

That could make for some interesting confrontations in the Commons.

I also heard Rifkind say as much in interview with the ITN. Maybe the Tories are wise on this and are wringing their hands with what to do.
