Extradition hearing for Simon Mann

THE alleged kingpin of the foiled coup against the government of Equatorial Guinea last year, Simon Mann, does not face automatic extradition to the oil-rich West African state despite his conviction in Zimbabwe, the public prosecutor’s office has said.

Director of public prosecutions, Joseph Musakwa, said although Equatorial Guinea officials had made a formal request for Mann’s extradition, no agreement has been reached yet. He said a decision would be made by the courts.
