Jaafari’s London connection

I see that Iraqi Prime Minister-elect Ibrahim al-Jaafari used to have a medical practice just down the road from me in Wembley.

Here’s hoping he proves to be more of a democrat than Dr Hastings Banda, who was a GP in nearby Harlesden before becoming President-for-life of Malawi.
